You want to start an email list but you don’t have a clue on where or how to start.
Good ol’ Google has so much information out there it all just makes you spin your wheels or end up in overwhelm city.
Let’s start with the basics.
Email marketing at its core is simply you offering something of value to your audience for free in exchange for their email address so you can build a more connected and personal relationshi with them. Remember:
Social media = rented space
Your email list = yours forever!
The key thing is to build that trust with your audience BEFORE you start selling to them.
So, the first thing you want to start with is what email marketing platform to use. There are several out there to choose from.
I absolutely love Kit (used to be ConvertKit but they shortened their name). Free for up to 10,000 subscribers and super easy to use with great templates and drag and drop features. Plus their customer service is fantastic if you need help at any time.
Other platforms out there include Flodesk, Mailchimp, Active Campaign and Mailerlite.
Think about the price point here as well. Whichever platorm you end up choosing, make sure it’s easy to set up, has the ability to send bulk emails and has the ability to grow with your business. You don’t want a platform that is going to end up pricing you out of your budget and becoming unsustainable in the long run.
